TkV WoRKS A3/C Superleggera @ SEMA.....

I left in the dark of night, the smell of fresh paint filling the just loaded trailer… a quick change of direction… instead of going for cage work, it came out of the jigs, off the chassis table Friday night after work ( my day/real job…) and onto it’s wheels for the first time. Saturday I hung the driver’s door, glued in the passenger door skin and trunk lid, fabricated the rear push structure, completed the triangulated tow hook and structure (temporary) @ the nose, knocked down the parting lines and flash off the newly molded body…( I had simply been using for measurements and fitment during the chassis build…it had remained untouched from the mold process..) Sunday my friend Aaron came over and laid the Dynamat on the tub/cockpit buck, my friend Tim ferried his enclosed trailer over for my use to go to SEMA, then got suckered in to mounting all the lights in the holes I had just cut out… I gave it a quickie base coat “faux” sunburned paint job…( maybe should have left in virgin gelcoat??) but it gave a sense of “what?” to the car sitting there…old??, new??, barn find?? I didn’t have my new wheels yet but not really an issue for me as it is “under construction” and ran with the ZR1 wheels used for mock-up on the chassis table. Had a good time, my core admirerers really loved it, the fact that it’s hi-tech with the rare vintage envelope, others just saw “kit car on a Corvette…” ya, if only… LOL!! Thanks, back to finish building…
