About
The Camaro is my first project car. After college, I bought it on eBay from a guy in New Jersey. I had no idea what I was doing, so there are definitely more solid project cars than this one, but hey…live and learn right?
I’ve done some work here and there since I bought it in 2001: rewiring, new floorboard, new transmission. But, I decided that to achieve the complete pro-touring makeover that I’m hoping for, I need to start from the ground up.
But, that takes money…a LOT of money. That’s why the car sits in a warehouse collecting dust. At least until I win the lottery or Chris Jacobs and Overhaulin’ come to save me!

Plans for this Vehicle
After the tear-down is complete, I plan on soda-blasting the body to get a better idea of how much cancer I’m dealing with. I’m gonna build a rotisserie, because I anticipate a lot of body work. I’ll patch what I can and replace what makes sense.
I plan on installing a Detroit Speed front subframe and suspension as well as their Quadralink rear set-up.
I don’t have my engine plans nailed down just yet. Right now I’m leaning towards the GMPP ZZ383 stroker with a fuel injection system up top (probably the FAST XFI system).
I already have a new radiator from Be Cool and a dual electric SPAL fan, as well a a Vintage Air system waiting, when I get to that point.
Brakes will be Baer, wheels are up in the air, but probably Billet Specialties.
A lot of the interior stuff will probably come from Marquez Design. I’m really interested in the possibilities with an ISIS wiring system. I’m also working up an idea for a custom gauge cluster from Classic Instruments, but we’ll wait and see on that.
Keep in mind that I’m a LONG way from pulling the trigger on most of this stuff, so plans may change several times before I get there. But, that’s what makes this fun, right?
