About
My name is Don and I drive a 2003 Jetta 1.8T. From day one with the car it has been a project, because I have always enjoyed messing with cars. The car was completely stock when I bought it from the dealer in August 2005. I started changing the appearance to fit my style which has changed over and over the past couple of years to what it is now. The car has gone though 3 major builds, each one adding just a little more until the last one started. In October 2008; It was time to change the car in a different way. The car went up on jack stands and I started pulling it apart. One thing I definitely wanted to do was swap the tiptronic transmission out for a manual. With the motor, all the body panels, interior, all suspension taken out I had pretty much a shell of a car and decided to go all out. Full GLI black interior swap was done on a earlier build and I had the cars moldings shaved the year before, so I didn’t have much body work to do, so I mainly centered my work on the engine bay. The bay has been completely shaved, wiring has been tucked in the frame rails, motor has been built using IE rods, new rings, seals and bearings thoughout. Removed the boser hood that the car had and replaced i with a notch filled factory hood; I then replaced the RetroHID head lights with OEM hids, replaced the votex front bumper with a OEM
Bora-R front bumper with fog lights wired to the OEM headlight switch. Rebuilt the 18×8.5 BBS LM’s giving them a staggered appearance and different color, and replaced the coilovers with Bagyard Air-ride. The R32 seats that were in the car have been replaced with Recaro Speed’s. The car is now fitted with a Garrett GT3076R turbo (thanks to CTS Turbo) and Mafless software was written for it by Unitronic Chipped. That is about it
until the next build. Only time will tell what happens next.
