• Engine: 426 HEMI
• Engine Parts: Chrysler factory performance (Detailed) dual four cross-ram intake. Dual Holley 650 CFM (Detailed 1968 vintage) carburetors with new 1/2" fuel lines.
• Transmission: An after market Mopar 727
• Brakes: converted to a front disc brake system

Interior

• Upholstery: The interior is completed to represent the Dodge classic HEMI Dart.
• Seats: A100 seats (recently recovered), complete with correct aluminum "swiss cheese" brackets, RCU 5 point seat belts.
• Steering Wheel: Refurbished
• Steering Column: Steering column has been rebuilt and detailed to duplicate period correct.

Exterior

• Body Mods: Rotisserie restoration procedures. The body was media blasted to bare metal.
• Paint: Paint and major bodywork was professionally completed by Dunwell Auto Restoration, 2007-2009.
• Wheels: Nice ones!
• Trim: Very little

Audio & Electronics

• Head Unit: Don't need a stereo system, wouldn't hear it anyway!
• Navigation: I don't need to know where I'm going
• Security: Big stick
• Battery: New period correct "Large" 17"X 9"X 61/2" Mopar battery.

About

This vehicle is being completely restored as a black 68 HEMI SS/AA tribute. The photos shown here are prior to the restoration.

We’ve owned it for four years and is in the final stages of restoration. The engine was detuned to 625 HP from it’s 732 racing days.
We are looking forward to the completion of this vehicle in it’s debute black body color with Cragar SS nostalgia wheels. It will be a killer car once complete!

History of this Vehicle

When we purchased the Dart it was still in ‘racing mode’. We had fun taking it to the race track to see what it could do and to also get to know the vehicle’s performance and reaction. The next year we started to strip it down by detuning the engine, removing the drive train, prepping it for paint, etc. Our plans are to have it ready for the 2010 Calgary World of Wheels auto show….and then drive it for fun!

An after market Mopar 727 transmission has been completely rebuilt by National Transmission, Barlow Trail N.E. Calgary, including all new components.
A new custom 2800 Stahl torque converter is mounted.
Dana 60 rear end with a rear axle ratio of 5:13.1.
A balanced rear drive shaft is mounted with a Hoop driveline cover.
