When I first saw the bBx concept at the New York international auto show I said to my self if this car ever makes it to the states I gotta have one. Six months after the US release of the xB I had one and immediately started to modify it. It all started out innocently enough Rims suspension and exhaust but it rapidly morphed into what it is today. This xB is now a promotional vehicle for Design tech www.designtechnj.com to show off there talents. The interior is now sporting four Powerbass subs and several component sets for a grand total of thirty-two speakers. The interior modifications don’t stop there; design tech installed a twenty-seven inch HD monitor in to the dash and an amp rack built into the roof. The majority of the cabin has been covered in black suede with silver stitching; there are few bits that are painted silver.
For the suspension Easystreet by Airlift provided me with a full digital pneumatic suspension system. Easystreet actually used this particular car to re-develop their air suspension kit for the XB’s. There are Hotchkis anti sway-bars front and back with modified polyurethane bushings and a Cusco four-link A-arm brace. The rear hubs sport One-ton garage’s spacers. For wheels I am currently running a set of seventeen inch Privat (a division of Konig) Nets with Pirelli Tires.
Under the hood is a Greddy turbo with a customized AEM cold air intake. The exhaust is a custom 2.5-inch cat-back system utilizing only the cat as a muffler. As for the exterior we are currently looking for a sponsor to provide us with a kit to use as a base for a wide body. This ride will be traveling the country competing in NCCA sanctioned events so look out for it.
